Poolside Deck Restoration
A weathered poolside deck and stair run brought back — flaking finish taken off, bare wood prepped, and every board, rail and post recoated in a deep barn red.

About this project
Years of sun and poolside traffic had worn the deck’s solid stain back to bare wood across the skirt boards, the stair stringers and the top of the rail caps. The structure itself was sound — what it needed was honest prep. Loose and flaking finish was taken off, the exposed wood prepped, and the whole run refinished: deck boards, stairs and landing, railings, posts and skirting, cut cleanly around every metal baluster.
The challenge
A deck that stays in use, sits right beside a pool, and carries dozens of metal balusters to cut around. Prep and clean lines are the entire job.
